Lakshmi Aunty, popularly known as ‘Dosa Aunty’ has been running her Dosa cart for over 10 years and winning hearts of several youngsters in the process. Located opposite Jain College, JC Road, Bengaluru, this small cart whips up hot, spicy, delicious Dosas for the hungry students during lunch time or after college. In order to make it even more interesting to the young crowd, they have added varieties to the regular dosas such as Pizza Dosa, Noodle Dosa, Cheese Dosas and more at a pocket friendly rate. No Dosa exceeds RS. 100. The prices start from RS. 40.

Students come here with their friends, grab a plate of hot dosa, have a chat with Dosa Aunty and leave in order to catch the next class! This place a ‘student’s adda’ where stories and dosas are being made, discussed, enjoyed all at the same time! Dosa Aunty is assisted on the cart by her son and daughter in law who take care of the payments, washing of plates and sometimes, even the cooking. There is no seating arrangement here but students crowd around the cart while enjoying their dosas.

We visited here for the video shoot, having heard about it from a friend, it was difficult to locate it at first. When we asked the locals around, they pointed us to the cart which was bustling with a few students who had come down for a quick bite. Luckily, some of them spoke about the cart, the taste of the food and how much they love it in the video! One of the students had been visiting the cart since 2 years and it’s her go to place for spicy street food. She was having the Cheese Dosa and seemed to enjoy every bit of it.

We went for the Pizza Dosa which was loaded with cheese, Italian flavours, with the balanced flavours of Dosa that made it the perfect combination! Mind you, the Dosas are on the spicy side here so don’t hesitate to carry a bottle of water. We enjoyed the Dosa and at RS. 70, it was cost friendly.

A couple more students lined up while the shoot was going on and ordered for Noodle Dosas, Cheese Dosas, regular dosas and more. Lakshmi Aunty was having one of her regular busy business afternoons with a big smile on her face every time someone complimented the meal she just served! If you are looking for hatke varieties of spicy dosas, then head over to Dosa Aunty’s cart and eat to your heart’s content without burning a hole in your pocket!

The prices vary on the kind of Dosa you take. Pizza Dosa – RS 80 ,Cheese Dosa – RS 50, Regular Dosa – RS. 40, Noodle Dosa – RS. 100 More varieties available too!
